Flat Perms:

By "flat" we mean less than 1000m of climbing, which still leaves plenty of scope for some bumpy bits. Most of these are available as Calendar events over the Winter months, but here is your chance to ride them during warmer months.

This ride shows you the Cheshire countryside at its best. Although there are no big climbs, so you could use a 'fixed' bike should you wish, the ride is by no means flat throughout.

The first part takes you through the town of Knutsford, then over the low-lying Delamere hills on the way to Helsby.

Then it's flat all the way through some lovely traditional Cheshire countryside with some fine views of Beeston castle, via Waverton and Bunbury to Eccleshall and the garden centre cafe.

The return to the Stockport area goes through the village of Maer.

The permanent version of the Winter Solstice calendar event, a route deliberately chosen for its lack of climbing, so it makes a good ride for those riding 'fixed'. If it's a flat ride, with quiet lanes and the option of several welcoming cafes that you are after, this is a ride for you.

And if you've ridden the Winter Solstice and fancy something a little different, you can now ride this Perm in the opposie direction!

From the edge of Stockport, you head out over the Cheshire Plain to Davenham, crossing the Weaver to Whitegate and Beeston. You cross the Dee at Farndon to enter Wales at Holt before returning to England through Malpas and Whitchurch to Market Drayton.

Return to Stockport through Shavington Park to Tattenhall, then skirt Nantwich and Middlewich
