To create a GPS track from a Google Maps route

1) Add GMapToGPX to Your Favourites
Go to www.elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx/ and follow the instructions there to add the
yellow-highlighted link to your Favourites or Bookmarks folder (this may generate a security warning - but it's
nothing to worry about).

2) Create GPX file of Google Maps route
Open up a Google Maps route on your screen and select GMapToGPX from your Favourites folder. This will open a new
window with the GPS data. Click on the text, use [CTRL-A] to highlight it all, then [CTRL-C] to copy it. Open your
text editor with a blank document and [CTRL-V] to paste it, then just save it as routename.gpx
